Geothermal Repair

Ground-source equipment fails differently from anything else we service, and the fault is often in the loop rather than the box in the mechanical room. A ground-source system has no outdoor condenser, so the usual suspects do not apply. What we check instead is loop flow, circulator pumps and the flow center, antifreeze concentration, entering and leaving water temperatures across the heat exchanger, and pressure drop that points to air in the loop or a partial blockage. A system that still runs but has quietly lost capacity is almost always a flow problem. Inside the cabinet, the failures look more familiar: control boards, thermostats at $150 to $450, and blower motors at $350 to $900. Diagnosis is $95, waived when you approve the repair on the same visit, and labor is $125 per hour during business hours. Geothermal is a specialty here rather than a sideline.
